My temporary password has expired - what do I do?

Explains why OneTutor temporary passwords expire after 7 days and how to request a new one to complete registration.

Written by Tobias Maier

When your institution sets up your OneTutor account, you receive an email with a temporary (initial) password. This password is valid for 7 days. If you don't log in and complete your registration within that time, the password expires and you won't be able to sign in.

⚠️ The "Forgot password" and "Create new account" options on the login page do not work for expired temporary passwords. You need to request a new temporary password from the OneTutor team.

How to get a new temporary password

Contact us and we'll send you a new one straight away. Please include:

  • Your email address (the one your institution uses for OneTutor)

  • Your institution name

📧 Write to us at: [email protected]

Once you receive your new temporary password, make sure to log in and complete your registration before the 7-day window closes.

After logging in

Once you're signed in, you can set a permanent password from your account settings so you won't need to rely on a temporary password in future.
