Does chat answer based on a single chapter or the entire course?

Quick explanation

By default, OneTutor’s chat uses all currently published/visible chapters in a course. If multiple chapters are visible, answers may combine information across them.

How to limit chat to specific chapters

  • Set chapters that are not relevant yet to hidden / not published.

  • This ensures OneTutor only uses the active chapters.

Examples

  • Chapters 1–2 visible → answers may reference chapter 1 or 2.

  • Only chapter 1 visible → answers should be limited to chapter 1.

Best practices

  • Publish chapters gradually over the semester.

  • Use clear, descriptive chapter titles to help learners navigate content.
